The Lensbury, London’s iconic riverside resort, is embarking on a transformation, building on its legacy as a world-class sports facility for the sporting elite.
27 January 2026 – The Lensbury, London’s iconic riverside resort, is embarking on a transformation, building on its legacy as a world-class sports facility for the sporting elite.
The resort, which has played host to some of the world’s esteemed sports teams, including England’s Lionesses & Red Roses, club football teams Chelsea FC and Manchester United, and international rugby teams England, South Africa and New Zealand, will undergo a £10 million refurbishment programme that will refresh key areas of the resort for hotel guests, sports teams and its members.
What’s Changing?
The project will see a complete renovation of the Club House restaurant, reception and Club House guestrooms, celebrating the property’s rich sporting heritage. The new interiors will combine modern elegance with timeless design, creating spaces that reflect The Lensbury’s character.
Refurbishment Timeline
The Lensbury’s refurbishment programme begins in February 2026 with a full refresh of the Club House restaurant and reception. Guestroom renovations will follow in early spring, while enhancements to food and beverage spaces are set to complete by late spring. The transformation will conclude in late summer with the unveiling of beautifully refurbished guestrooms, marking a new chapter for London’s riverside resort.
Hotel Operations
Throughout the programme, the resort will remain fully operational, continuing to deliver exceptional meetings and events, and member experience at the Lensbury Club.
